Joyce DesChane
Client Relationship Manager
When I joined Oak Leaf Capital Partners in 2016, I started in an administrative role and learned this practice from the ground up. That foundation turned out to matter. Over the years, as my responsibilities grew into my current role as Client Relationship Manager, what I carried forward from those early days was an understanding of how the whole operation fits together and what clients actually need from it.
My job is to be the person clients can reach when something comes up, whether that's a question, a document they need help understanding, or simply someone who already knows their situation and can help them think through a decision. While John handles the planning and strategy, my focus is on making sure nothing falls through the cracks on the service side and that every client feels like a priority throughout the process. The communication between John and me is something clients notice, and it's something we've worked at deliberately.
What I find most interesting about this work is that no two clients are the same. The questions change, the circumstances change, and the way people experience major transitions, whether that's retirement, a loss, or a significant life change, requires meeting them where they are. Doing that well means listening more than talking, which suits me just fine.
My husband and I live in Wauwatosa and are active in the community. Our two sons are both married and live nearby, and between them, we have five grandchildren who keep our weekends full of school events and sporting activities. We are members of the Suburban Milwaukee Lions Club, where we volunteer at community events, help stock food pantries, and collect donations for local shelters throughout the year. In quieter moments, I enjoy quilting and crafting.
